Always verify the name of the sender in the emails you receive or the number from which the message is sent
If you receive a call on Viber or WhatsApp which appears to be from MCB, don’t answer. MCB never contacts its customers through these apps. Block the number immediately
In case you answer the call and your caller says he is contacting you on behalf of MCB, do not believe him; he’s lying
If the caller tells you that you have won the lottery when you’ve never played it, hang up. It is a phishing attempt!
If you keep up the conversation and the caller asks you for your national identity card number, bank details and other personal information, do not disclose this information. Hang up.
In case you receive a text message (SMS) informing you that your card has been blocked and that you need to click on a link to reactivate it, ignore the message and delete it.
Check the spelling, look out for awkward turns of phrases
Think about it: does the story they’re feeding you sound credible?
